Does it feel like you have to impress God for you to matter to Him?
If so maybe you are thinking like an adult, rather than a child. In Matthew 18:3, Jesus says that unless we become like a little child, we won't be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
We all feel as though we need to rely on ourselves to get anything done. Sometimes though, our feelings are not right. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
INVITATION It's easy for you to begin a relationship with God right now. He does not require you to be perfect or even a "good" person to know Him. He accepts anyone who accepts His Son Jesus.
If you are not sure you know Him, God's plan is that whoever you are, whatever you are doing and thinking, that you would take the step of salvation and begin a relationship with Him today.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus died for your sins, and believe in your heart that He rose from the dead, you are saved. (Romans 10:19). This is a promise from God.
